An Old Man's Musings

Questions to ponder: We all talk big about equality, but let's just put the cards on the table and be honest. This life is not about equality. Life and society is not made that way, and never has been. There have always been leaders and followers, heroes and cowards, rich and poor, healthy and sick, lucky and unlucky, winners and losers, successes and failures, generous and greedy, strong and weak, skilled and clumsy, industrious and lazy, and smart and dumb..... So what part of this life is about equality? Can we honestly ever really expect true equality, where leaders and followers are equal, where heroes and cowards are equal, where rich and poor are equal, where healthy and sick are equal,  lucky and unlucky are equal, winners and losers are equal, successes and failures are equal, generous and greedy are equal, strong and weak are equal, skilled and clumsy are equal, industrious and lazy are equal, and smart and dumb are equal. Or is this equality thing here on earth just a pipe dream, or maybe at best, a good goal for all of us and society to wish and strive for, but never really achieve? Kind of like the gold at the end of the rainbow... we will never reach or find it, no matter how hard we try. Bummer!

Yep, sounds like a pipe dream to me. Don't get me wrong; I wish this life could be like that. It would be 'heaven' if this was a society where everyone is equal, but I just don't see all our politicians willingly giving up their power and privilege to become one of the little people, nor do I see the rich giving up all of their wealth to swap places with the poor in the streets, or the healthy giving up everything to the sick, or the winners sharing all with the losers, and so on and on...... Actually, there are two areas that we, that is everyone, are always equal. The first, not a good area, is that we are equal in Sin... Yep, you and me are all just Sinners and equal at last. Whoopee!!! The second area, is wonderful, and that is we are all equal as Children of GOD that have been offered Salvation and Eternal life, and that merits at least a couple of Hallelujahs!! Still, other than those two spiritual areas and as far as our material life, I'm a thinking there is just no way we will ever all be equal.

SURPRISE!!!!!! What if I told you that there is a place (and you might call it a society) where 'Equality" is absolutely guaranteed and promised. Galatians 3:28-29 says: "There is no longer Jew or Greek, there is no longer slave or free, there is no longer male or female; for all of you are one in Jesus Christ. And if you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham's offspring, heirs according to the promise." Ok, so it's not in this life here on earth, but in the next one, our Eternal Life with GOD in heaven where we are, finally, all equal. Hmm... might be kind of hard for the man that was always rich to be treated the same as the man that was a beggar... or the hero in this life to be treated the same as the coward. Not my problem as I am not a leader, not a hero, not rich, not particularly healthy or lucky, lose sometimes and fail quite often, fifty-fifty on generosity, kind of weak and clumsy, and some consider me just plain dumb. So this equality in the Eternal Life is a step up for me.... Bottom line: Heaven is just that...it is where all is perfect and that means we will be all equal under GOD and as part of GOD; equal as we have all really been forever, no matter what we or society thought.  Just an Old Man's Musings....

SURPRISE!! This page is not copyrighted.  If you find some words or thoughts that you can use, freely use as you wish, and give credit if you want. We all know where this came from, and it is not me, but GOD, so use what you need, and then pray and thank our GOD. Do not ever thank me, as I am only a channel for our Lord. Think of me as maybe being a very small and feeble beam of light pointing the way towards the Light of Christ. God Bless You All! Last modified: June 21, 2013(AL).
